I've always had a love for animals and a sincere interest in their well-being. That interest has motivated me to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant, Certified Pet Groomer, Certified Canine Massage Therapist and Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist.
I began riding horses at 8 years old and a few short years later I was teaching other kids to ride and care for horses. When it came time to choose a high school I jumped at the chance to go to the Veterinary Academy at Tarpon Springs High School. In the academy we had lots of hands-on experience with animals. We had dog and cat grooming weekly, which sparked my interest in the grooming profession. I graduated from the veterinary academy as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. I also took an additional veterinary research class in high school to become certified a second time as a veterinary assistant through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. After my graduation I became a Certified Pet Groomer through Penn Foster.
A few months after recieving my other certifications I learned about equine and canine massage therapy. I did lots of research about it and even wrote some of my college term papers about the therapy. I came to the conclusion that massage really is beneficial for animals and a great way to give back to the animals. I travelled to Virginia and became certified through Equissage by Mary Schreiber. Mary Schreiber is the pioneer of modern equine and canine massage therapy, which is why I chose to be certified by Equissage. I am also a member of the International Association of Animal Massage Therapists (IAAMT).
